How we prepare and coat your car

Wash and decontaminate
The car is washed and decontaminated so nothing bonded to the paint gets sealed under the coating.

Machine paint enhancement
We machine the paint to bring back depth and clarity. Swirled or scratched paint gets more correction, which is why the price follows the paint condition.

Apply Drip 9H
Drip 9H is applied in our Southport studio using a controlled multi-stage application, rather than being treated as a quick add-on.
- 05
Wheels, glass, interior and tint
If you added them, wheel faces or full wheels, glass coating, interior protection and window tint are done at the same visit.

Collection and aftercare
Collect the car from Southport and ask us how to maintain the finish. Proper maintenance is what keeps a ceramic coating performing.

Every ceramic package uses Drip 9H Ceramic Coating, an in-house-formulated proprietary product unique to DRIP Automotive Co.
On the Gold Coast our ceramic coating is the 10-Year Ceramic Coating, for owners who want long-term protection. Ask us for the warranty terms that apply to your coating before you book.
9H is a pencil-hardness rating. It is not a promise that the coating is scratch-proof or immune to stone chips, deep scratches or every type of damage. For impact protection, pair the coating with paint protection film.
Our workmanship is guaranteed: if something isn’t right with the finish, we make it right.
How long it takes
Typically 1–3 days in the studio. Paint preparation is the main variable, so a brand-new car usually needs less time than a swirled one. We confirm the booking length with your quote.

How long does ceramic coating last?
Drip 9H ceramic coating lasts 10 years with proper maintenance. Proper maintenance means regular gentle hand washing with a pH-neutral car shampoo, using the two-bucket method, avoiding automatic brush car washes, and rinsing off salt, bird droppings and bug splatter promptly. If you also want stone-chip protection, SunTek Reaction PPF is covered by a 12-Year Manufacturer Warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms.
Ceramic coating or PPF: which do I need?
Ceramic coating gives gloss, UV protection and easier washing, but it does not stop stone chips. PPF is a physical film that protects the paint from stone chips and road debris. Many owners combine the two: front PPF on the panels that take the most chips, with ceramic coating over the whole car.
How do I look after ceramic coating and PPF?
Leave the car unwashed for 48–72 hours after a PPF installation so the film can settle. For a new ceramic coating, we tell you at collection how long to wait before the first wash. After that, wash with a pH-neutral car shampoo using the two-bucket method, avoid automatic brush car washes, and rinse off salt after beach trips.

Why does paint condition change the price?
Every car is professionally prepared before coating. Heavily swirled or scratched paint needs more machine correction to get a clean finish under the coating, so it takes more work. Lightly swirled paint is the same price as brand new.
Does vehicle size or colour change the price?
No, except for a Large American Truck, which adds $110 inc GST. There is no surcharge for black paint.
I have just bought a new car. Is there a package?
Yes. The New Car Ceramic Coat with free window tint is $1,375 inc GST, a fixed price for every vehicle size.
